Not only does MERC smell but you also have tractor trailers full of smelly trash (and empty ones that still smell) traveling through the most congested part of Biddeford and Saco.report abuseBadoog

Trash to energy is a concept that works in the right setting (ecoMaine comes to mind).
The bad news is that trash stinks and it gets trucked in from everywhere.
MERC is a business. The more trash they burn, the more money they make.
Have the two Cities close a private business (good precendent to start there) put people out of work, and then figure out what to do with all the trash. A big pile on Saco Island comes to mind...

Chuck - So the City Council of Biddeford was told that trash doesn't stink and they believed it? Shame on them.
