From your comments about using Obama as proof that there's no race issue in America to pushing the question of States' Rights here to dumping on Lincoln, you come across in a rather disquieting light - to say the least.
As well, the whole anti-Lincoln memorial thing became a weird issue with all of the Right Wingers laughing that the stage for the Democrats looked like the Lincoln memorial in its classical mode of architecture.
You're dumping on a man who is a hero to me and millions of Americans and you're asking for an apology when you KNEW you would offend so many others? That's not going to happen.
Moreover, I asked you a question: "Isn't that why?...." You could have answered "no" and explained why, but you didn't.
Do you think it was worth it to have a deadly Civil War over speed limits and the drinking age?

Why is it so important that a state set speed limits or a drinking age? Do you actually think that's what the founders were trying to deal with when they worked out the Constitution? Clearly, it had to do with national issues of division - and the sine qua non of having the southern states join the union was that slavery would be a state issue. Period. You might be misguided, but you are clearly a very intelligent man, so you must know that.

I believe in state's rights.
Things like choosing the drinking age or deciding on a speed limit.
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Apparently you interpret that as being racist.

You're doing such a wonderful job of putting words (false ones) in my mouth that I'll just sit back and watch.
And not respond.
There is no point, you've thrown out so many strawmen that I don't have the energy to knock them all down.
Have fun playing with yourself, I'm not gong to join in your game.
I'm sure you'll take that as a tacit agreement with your words, which it is not, but I can't stop you.report abuse

"Isn't that why you dislike Lincoln? Because he set out to dissolve the Slave Power."
You owe me an apology for that.report abuse
