Please, do you really think these candidates (Rep or Dem) run their own campaigns? They are told what to say, where to be, and who to talk to, 24 hours a day. The candidate's campaign gurus run their campaigns.report abuse

It's too bad too. I could actually have voted for McCain until he became a run-of-mill Republican, more concerned with getting elected by appeasing fundamentalists than in what is really good for this country.
We hear a lot about tax and spend Democrats. Personally I'd rather have a tax and spend Democrat than a no-tax and spend Republican. I can't run my household on deficit spending year after year after year and neither can this country. Yet that is what McCain seems to be offering us. So it still, for me at least, comes down to his policies; not him, or his running mate qualifications or personality.report abuse

I would never attack Palin for not having enough experience but it does take the teeth out of McCain's primary attack against Obama. There is a not unreasonable chance that McCain will not serve a full four years, given his age and his health problems. Is she really ready to be President? I don't know because I don't know enough about her. I still won't vote for McCain because I don't feel we can afford another 4 years of Bush politics which is all I can see with McCain. Massive deficit spending, international interference on a wider scale, more civil rights taken away, an opportunity to further politicize the Supreme Court through two or more possible appointments, a further deterioration of our reputation abroad, more loss of moral superiority. Nope, that's all a bit too scary for me.

PS: Palin’s husband is an oil-worker and 4-time champion of an Alaskan snowmobile race billed as the longest and toughest in the world (photo): http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20080829/capt.9066fec4932d4c0186fa7d1010223cb0.veepstakes_palin_ny114.jpgreport abuseMauricio Shogun
