You should check your facts, the extension was granted until October 1st. And, the design of the plate was changed a while back to several animals such horse, dog, cat, rabbit etc. That way, it applies to more than just girls with pony tails and dogs...report abuseBaxter Smith

Perhaps, if Animal Rescues in Maine stopped importing dogs from other states, they wouldn't be "cash strapped" and this ridiculous need for yet another license plate would be null and void.report abuseChico1

Yankee.. your numbers are way off. Although, I have heard that car registration is going up last year I paid like $40 for the vanity plate plus regular registration. This year it was only $15 extra for the vanity plate. Your comment is misleading and again, I believe the costs are off. However, I do agree with you that the State should NOT increase car registration. They need to rein in their spending.. not add more taxes! dahhhhh.. no brainer.report abuseYankee
