Yesterday I was driving through the edge of Ike in Ohio as winds up to 70 hit Columbus and Cincinnati. I couldn't go any faster than 40 on some parts of I-71 -- and the corn leaves were flying around like in the Wizard of Oz! If I had been really smart, I would have pulled over until it passed. But imagine seeing Cincinnati (500,000 people) dark! No traffic lights, and people regarding all intersections as 4-way stops!report abuseThreeBalls

What are we - some 400+ miles east of Ike as it passed through western New York and we are losing power in 45mph winds?
One can only image how bad it was in Texas this past Saturday!!
I cannot imagine ever moving South even to escape some of the problems that we experience up here. I'll take the winter and keep my home!report abuse
