I wonder how many of these bottles from supposedly reputable US companies were actually made outside the US where manufacturing standards are not as regulated. Funny how so many items that have either faced a recall or have been shown to contain some nasty unhealthy chemical have been discovered in the past few years. Dog food and small children's toys immediately come to mind. M
How did we ever survive the early 60s with all that lead paint just sitting there in our family's windows?report abuse

There was a time when the FDA thought Fen Phen was ok for people to use as a diet drug...then years later they took it off the market because it was deemed unsafe. So history shows that the FDA has made some bad decisions and they could be making a bad decision with this chemical as well. It is definitely worth looking in to once again.

Earlier this year, Canada banned BPA. By sometime in 2009, all WalMart stores will have removed all baby products containing BPA from their shelves.

Even if it is just because people are being a little too cautious, it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the health of our children.report abuse

Gene,
I do concider myself to be scientific, i am no creationist, though i am not a scientist either. And i certainly don't approve of media scare tactics, i just believe this issue and other similar ones deserive attention (in a rational way, not hystaria)concidering the unexplained rise in many diseases, especially among children who would seem to be most volnerable to toxins. I hadn't realized that this study had been proven to be "JUNK science". But i do know that the tabacco companies were denying that cigarettes cause cancer in the 1990's, citing that science couldn't conclusivly indentify the exact physiological process in which this would occur. It seems as if similar arguments are being made to prevent bans on other toxins. Just my opinion. i appriciate your view as well.report abuse

GThumb Proven, I think not, it was proven to be JUNK science, read the study, no one could reproduce the experiements that were done to raise concern.

This is a Rehashing of scare the heck out of people 1990s crap.

You must not be a scientific fact kind of person.
