The answer is The City of Portland Public Works, which mean it my tax money....Didn't we just cut peoples jobs and have the City make promise to us that they wasn't going to over spend/waste money?? Will we have money for road salt/plow this winter??
My question to Anita LaGay Asst. City manager and Sally the DeLoser Acting Parks and Recreation manager...Isn't it you job to save me money and not have my taxes go up again?? Put my tax money toward helping the families who live in the City of Portland.
Now this skate park is way out of town, this will prevent kids from skating in the Old Port area?? I think not!!
Anita LaGay Asst. City manager. Do you really need to keep Sally DeLoser working??report abuse

These vandals don't need a skate park, they need a good swift kick in the droopy pants. Because they cause problems with pedestrian and vehicular traffic downtown, the city is going to build them a park? (Of course with matching funds from the doper orginations.) So, you can safely gather hundreds of wayward youth who know no bounds and have no moral compass into a small skate park and not have problems? This is a disaster waiting to happen. But on a positive note, when the park is completed, it will make for some wonderful YouTube footage. Footage of cops smacking drunk, drugged out hippies around. footage of hired security guards trying to keep the miscreants from destroying anything not nailed down. I can't wait for the outrage when some copper on the 11 O'Clock news grabs a skate rat by the short hairs and has the audacity to try and deal with their malarky. Great fun! I even heard that the largest donor to the project was a benefactor and ex-skater named Larry Tiita who was known to be a terror back in the day on the halfpipe.report abuseLAD

I like design #3. The plans do need to reflect as much of the surrounding area as possible.report abuse---
