why is Irving in Augusta charging $3.71????

Speculation continues to drive the price.

they can and will charge us outrageous prices.

if we cut back on consumption, the price will drop some more.
but not as fast as they go up.report abuse

Yeah, and a 1/2 gallon of milk was 20 cents. We still get milk from a cow, but the price still rises. Yes there is some guaging, but inflation plays a part too.report abuse

Anyone old enough to remember when the private little filling station on Bangor Street (not far from the fire station) had gas for 33 cents a gallon? Wow, times have changed, yet we still get oil from overseas even though technology has changed (ie.horizonal drilling) and we're sitting on all we need WHILE we develop alternatives. Very sad...report abuse
