Tee you are right, I can not believe the hoops they have made them jump through. If it was Roxanne Quimby the deal would have been done and the state would have helped her pay for it.report abuse

I am amazed that Plum Creek is still here. They have put up with more garbage here in Maine than 100 companies should have to put up with. They want to move into a economically disadvantaged area and create a development that will both create jobs and enhance people's ability to enjoy the natural treasure that is the Moosehead area. Grand Hotels in places like Moosehead are nothing new. That are in fact Maine's heritage. Many of these grand hotels still exist in some areas of Maine and NH. I sincerely hope that Plum Creek knows that there are many sane people in Maine who would love to see this development go forth. It is a great mix of development and permanent conservation that tax payers don't have to pay for. Most of all it cares for the entire Moosehead region. Not only the wildlife and forests but also the people who live there. Opponents of the project (few of them from that area) care nothing about people. Maine has invited our industry to the door and kicked them when they walked through it yet Maine people are left hold the bag while government hands us an ever higher tax bill. This development is a good idea and I look forward to staying in one of these resorts one day. A great new way to enjoy up north.report abuseGiles Corey
