Massachusetts has an infamous roadway called "suicide alley". It is an approximate 20 mile stretch of roadway on Route 6 on Cape Cod. Numerous accidents and roadway fatalities have occurred on suicide alley over the past four decades.

Maine's 20 mile stretch of Route 2 from Skowhegan, passing thu Pittsfield,Palmyra to Newport is Maine'a own 'Suicide Alley' Over the past ten years numerous crashes and roadway deaths have occurred on Route 2 from Skowhegan to Newport. Lifelong residents living in the towns on this section of Route 2 will tell you stories of bad crashes, fatalities n Route 2 going back decades.

Three years ago when i last drove on Route 2 from Skowhegan to Newport, i counted 12 roadside memorials of where people have died. 12 deaths! on a 20 mile stretch of roadway in less than a decade.

It does not appear the driver of the log truck is at fault in this latest crash on 'suicide alley', but if roadways can have a attitude like a person, Route 2 Skowhegan to Newport certainly has one, a deadly on that needs corrections.report abuse
