I'm so glad that child was okay ... we have very high locks on both our doors. My son prides himself on independence so those locks went up pretty quickly when he figured out the keyhole locks.report abuse

I have 3 kids and fortunately nothing terrible has happened to any of them. There have been things that have happened that I thought never would have happened...them getting out w/o me realizing it.

My 1.5 year old got out the front door. My oldest didn't shut the door tight, although it looked like it had caught tight. I heard a crying from a distance. My toddler (only in a diaper) got out, rolled off the porch onto a snow bank and was crawling in my driveway! This happened within 1 minute. I was shaking for days over it. He was not injured but it could have been much worse (we weren't far from route 1 and we had a small pond near us). It still makes me shutter.

Before kids I would have thought those kind of things happen to parents who don't give a crap and don't supervise their kiddos.report abuse
