Folks, I went to one of these small rural school districts that consolidation opponents say are so superior. No art, no shop, no home economics (all canceled during K-8), no class trips, no elements of scale for proper school sports, only one foreign language, obsolete books, multi-media (yeah, right!)...can't believe these dinosaurs are fighting for the status quo.report abusedd

Auditor has it right, all people want to do is complain, but given a chance to cut back on adminstrative cost in each town all are up in arms. Come on People lets try it I also think towns like WTVL, Winslow should have one school system. These two school graduated less then 300 kids last year. We can't afford to support separate school the size of these communities. We are doing many things together now what is the problem?report abuseAuditor

We are all complaining about high cost of government (State and your own town).
Everyone thought the world would end in the 60s when the SADs and SEUs were formed - it did not...
"Maine - life the way it should be" - complain and no change is our real mottoreport abuse
