I was in the parade in South Portland and have participated in the last three. For having a windy cold morning today there was a good turnout and smiling faces on the kids. Thank you to South Portland for turning out.report abusemark walker

maiden62 I just watched the news and you have a good point. I think the state should fund more important things in our capital. Its a shame that our city takes third to portland and bangor. WE have one of the best waterfronts but our downtown is like a ghost town. There is alot of good people down there POINI BLANK!!!report abuseMaidene62

Once again Augusta has shown their contempt for Veterans. This is the State's capital, where was the parade? How pathetic.report abuseMichelle Martin

Response to John Anybody - I've been going for years as well. My dad served in WWII and brought us every year. I must say that last year the parade was pathetic. There were only about 100 people total. My mother was so upset about the small turnout that she wrote to the papers and radio stations to complain no one even mentioned the parade and nothing was even mentioned in Portland Press Herald. It's too bad we get a smaller turnout than Bangor... but at least there were more people today then last year...report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment.
