Some small magazines go out of business without ever giving their subscribers the promised issues. Beware of subscribing to mags that don't publish on time!report abuseSolid

It wouldn't surprise me if PPP subscribers still receive the number of issues they paid for; it will just take more months for them to arrive in the mail.
PPP is a good publication. Let's hope it survives.report abuse

Some of a magazine's money is made from subscriptions, though most is made from advertising. But the rates a magazine can charge for advertising depend on the number of its subscribers. When subscription (and single-copy) sales decline, so must advertising rates. In addition, when the economy tanks, one of the first ways that businesses trim their operating expenses is by reducing their advertising. Magazines thus feel the economic pinch in two ways.

Give me a break, solid. 12 issues costs like $20. Magazines don't make their money from subscriptions, it's from advertisement.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
