More Firefighters are killed in traffic accidents than by fires. To train on a simulator first, than to potentially injure the public is a good idea. Also it cost more to replace a fire truck than the simulator. It also appears that the one unit will be shared(on a trailer) with multiple communities, another money saver!!!! Sounds like a useful training tool that could save lives and money.report abuseroger trk

How about another "jaws of life" to help whoever authorized the money to be spent for this pork barrel to get thier head out of thier backsides.report abuseSG

First, even if the feds paid for it, that's still our money. And how many other units did they buy for other departments (I bet a whole lot).
Second, train on what you drive, not a video game. If you're doing things in a simulator that aren't safe in real life, don't do it.
Lastly, I bet there's a lot of other more useful things the firefighters would have preferred to spend money on.report abuse

Although I completely support our firefighters, this is just plain stupid, and I bet most firefighters would agree with me.
