OPEC has cut production a number of times since August. Each cut did nothing to slow the price fall. You gotta love it!

The developing world depends on the US for production orders to fill, when we stop ordering they slow down on production of goods and make less money to buy new cars that burn gas. World demand is down.

Hello! This isn't due to falling demand. It's due to the credit crunch and the need for hedge funds to liquidate holdings. Speculators caused the run up in prices and they are the cause of the drop. You would think Maine's energy director would know that.report abuse
