The severity off this sentence is again a reflection of the difference between state and federal courts. Federal courts are handing out stiffer sentences, based on federal law. The State of Maine needs to change the penalty laws to catch up with the federal statutes. And state judges need to change their focus from saving the taxpayer dollars spent on prisons, to saving the taxpayer dollars by reducing the amount of crime--which is accomplished by handing out more appropriate sentences. And prisoners need their cable TV taken away. It irks me that the law REQUIRES that inmates be provided with cable TV.report abuseMirko Crocop

this state is so bass akwards. i dont understand how i guy can get 6 yers for looking and another gets significantly less for touching. very strange. there ought to be blanket sentencing guidelines for all crimes. seems we are all at the whim of some bj judge who probably didnt get any coochie coo the night before. 6 years for looking at kiddie porn? i mean its sick but 6 years of someones life sick? wowreport abusebabygrl
