CEI is a fine organization and this partnership with Bangor Savings, a strong Maine Bank, will get money in the hands of companies that otherwise would not have access in todays challenging credit environment. Kudos to both organizations! I agree debt isn't always the answer, but sometimes, it is. And this is certainly a legitimate alternative to using a personal credit card to fund your business expenses...NEVER a good idea, ask any sole proprietor that's done it, they'll tell you.report abuse

Let me get this straight..someone is encouraging cash stapped companies to borrow money to pay wages...to get them through the downturn. So when times get better they will still have to pay the same wages but on top of that they will have to pay the loans back..? HUH? How is this a good business plan? The $9.5 million would be better spent helping laid off worker develop small companies of their own and have a go at it that way...this is nothing but an add for the banks to make money! Kind of like the realtors telling you to buy now..hahahahahahareport abuse
