Funny back in 98 some of us in Maine went more then 2 weeks without, yet nothing like this happened!! Deal with it people, you'll get it back as soon as possible. You think they like not having you run up a bill, I mean lets think about it for a minute, the longer you don't have power the less money they bring in!!report abuseUve Benhad

As soon as Massachusetts utility company trucks are done putting on the electricity for illegal aliens down here in Massachusetts, we will send them up to New Hampshire for you legal residents.

This story does not even come close to representing what is going on here in NH. Those causing problems for the utility crews are a very small minority, just a handful out of the hundreds of thousands who have been without power. Most NH residents who have had contact with the workers have offered hot coffe, a sandwich or a fire to warm up by. The Union Leader website has maintained a blog since the storm - check it out if you're interested in what's really going on. Most people are dealing fine without electricity - it's the lack of information from PSNH and the other power companies that's been the most frustrating. We were lucky - only without power for 4 days and we had a small generator (yes, believe it or not, some of us here in NH know how to hook up a generator, carry water from the pond and heat it up over a wood fire so we could wash dishes - our pump worked but we had no hot water). We know many people who are still out (tomorrow is day 9) and have been told they won't likely get power back for several more days, some not until after Christmas. The workers have been doing an amazing job and the vast majority here absolutely appreciate it.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
