Betty, to think this is a OMU or Husson issue is very very very naive'. Anywhere you get a large group of college age kids together you have this, with a few exceptions. Some hide it better than others but it is there.report abuseMM

The most recent update I read on WCSH was that he died of a skull fracture. Obviously the information that all news media received earlier today was that alcohol may have been a facter. Why don't you sarcastic posters give the family a break, someone just lost a son. They don't need to hear your rude comments at a time like this.report abusebetty

That said, maybe alcohol abuse needs to be looked at more in depth and be better addressed at Orono. I have heard first hand from some college students here on the coast that Orono and Husson are where the good parties & booze are. That's actually a pretty sad and dangerous draw for anyone.report abuse

My thoughts and prayers go out to this young man's family!
